The Journal

The specialist group manages a peer-reviewed journal called Small Carnivore Conservation.

The first issue of the journal was published in 1989 as Mustelid and Viverrid Conservation. It is one of the longest running journals in the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC).

The goal of the journal is to contribute to small carnivore conservation, and it does this by:

  1. Capturing and publicising any information that might be relevant to small carnivore conservation

  2. Assisting potential authors, particularly in species-rich tropical countries, in developing the skills to publish their research or records
